  ABBA hailed from Stockholm,
Sweden and became the most memorable group
from Sweden in music history. The group
included Anni-Frid 'Frida' Lyngstad and
Agnetha Faltskog on vocals, Bjorn Ulvaeus on
guitar, and Benny Andersson on keyboards. The
origin of their name is simple - the first
letters of each of their names.
ABBA began with Andersson (of
the group the 'Hep Stars') and Ulvaeus (of
the group 'Hootenanny Singers') began
performing together in the mid-60's before
future wives Lyngstad (married to Andersson
from 1978 to 1981) and Faltskog (married to
Ulvaeus from 1971 to 1979) joined the duo to
complete ABBA.
