 Christina Maria Aguilera was
born December 18, 1980 in New York and later
raised in Pennsylvania. The urge to entertain
came early for Christina with an appearance
on TV's Star Search at age 9, talent
shows and special singing engagements, and as
a member of the member of The
New Mickey Mouse Club by age 12.
When Christina was 14 she toured Japan after
dueting with Japanese singer, Keizo
Nakanishi, on "All I Wanna Do." But
childhood and emerging stardom didn't come
easy for Christina. Her childhood included a
traumatic family life and Christina was often
subjected to threats and vandalism at her
home from other peers and families jealous of
her participation in local talent shows -
eventually resulting in the family moving.

 Christina made the cross-over to
eventual stardom with a request to audition
and then sing the track
"Reflection" for the Disney film Mulan - a Top 20 Adult
Contemporary hit. Christina got a record deal
from RCA Records.
