
Chris Daughtry was born December
26, 1979 and hails from North Carolina. In
2005, Daughtry tried out for the CBS
competition Rock Star: INXS but
failed to make the cut and continued to
perform with his rock band 'Absent Element.'
Daughtry rose to fame with the help of the
5th season of American Idol. Although Daughtry
didn't win the tile and came in 4th, his
exposure on the show led him to a recording
contract, the ability to form his own band, a
#1 debut LP and single, and the bragging
rights of gaining more success than those who
did better on American Idol.


Daughtry made it into the Top 12
finalists of the 5th season of American Idol.

American
Idol Season 5 Encores was released
with Daughtry's remake of "Wanted Dead
Or Alive."
Daughtry was voted off American Idol.

Daughtry turned down an offer
from Fuel to be their new lead
singer. He later got his own record deal.


Daughtry released his debut LP Daughtry. The LP was recorded
with various musicians before the group
'Daughtry' was formed.
