Flo Rida was born Tramar Dillard on December 16, 1979
in Florida. Flo Rida was the youngest boy in a family
with 7 sisters. When one of his sisters passed away
from bronchitis complications, Flo Rida made a
commitment to himself to "...make the most of my
time on earth." As a teen, Flo Rida joined a rap
group named the 'Groundhoggz' which eventually led to
touring with Fresh Kid Ice of 2 Live Crew.
Creating a rapper name that pays homage to his home
state and his rapping style, Flo Rider made it
further into the music scene on mixtapes in 2006 and
on DJ Khaled's LP We
The Best
in 2007 on the track "Bitch I'm From Dade
County."
