Katy Perry was born 'Katheryn Hudson' on October 25,
1984. The singer-songwriter was brought up in a
religious household in California where Katy music
was not supported and described as 'devil's work.'
Although she began her singing in a church and
released a Christian LP in 2001 (Katy Hudson),
Katy soon diverted from her religious teachings.
Katy's first shot at attention came in the form of The
Matrix - a production team that planned to
record their own LP with Katy as one of the vocalists
before the plans were terminated.
