TIMELINE

Britney Spearsbutton.gif (123 bytes) Britney Jean Spears was born in McComb, Mississippi on December 2, 1981 and raised in Louisiana. Her first bought with fame came at the age of 11 with the Mickey Mouse Club as a cast member of The New Mickey Mouse Club (Britney had been turned down 3 years earlier because she was too young). For a short time Britney joined the female group 'Innosense.' From there, Britney took her solo talents to the pop charts with a smash debut LP. Although Britney has never been noted for her singing voice, her fame rose as her provocative and controversial performances led her from teen pop star to young female vocalist. Tabloids followed her every move including a rocky marriage, questions of substance abuse, and erratic behaviors.
