• Sombr was born July 5, 2005 and raised in New York City. His professional name, Sombr, is a product of the initials for his full name SMB (Shane Michael Boose) and representative of the lyrics of his music. He released his first single "Nothing Left To Say" when he was 16 and the EP In Another Life when he was 18. His success with a few songs on TikTok led to a deal with Warner Records. Sombr's music style had been described as indie, alternative and rock pop.

• During the year, Sombr launched his first major solo world tour - 'The Late Nights & Young Romance Tour.'
• May 24: Sombr hit the ARC Weekly Top 40 with "Undressed."

• September 7: The video for "Back To Friends" won a MTV Video Music Award for Best Alternative Video. Sombr was also nominated for Best New Artist.
• September 13: Sombr topped the Billboard Rock Albums chart for 3 weeks and Alternative Albums chart for 3 weeks with I Barely Know Her.

• October 18: Sombr topped the Billboard Rock & Alternative Songs chart and Alternative Songs chart with "Back To Friends."

• November 8: Sombr hit the Top 10 with "Back To Friends."

• February 1: Sombr was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist.
