 Australian producer, Kevin
Parker is the crux of Tame Impala. Parker is the
writer, recorder, performer and producer of Tame
Impala. Parker was born in Australia and grew up
developing the music project that became Tame
Impala - originally recording music at home and
uploading the music to MySpace in 2007. Tame
Impala's eventual descriptors for their evolving
sound included "psychedulic rock,"
"psychedelic pop,"
"electronic/dance pop," and
"rave/house/electonic."
- December 31: Tame Impala's "The
Sun (Fred Cherry Eclipse)" is uploaded onto
MySpace.
- July 7: Tame Impala signed with
an Australian Independent label, Modular
Recordings.
- August 15: Tame Impala began their
first Australian national tour.
- March 10: Tame Impala began their
first international tour starting in Manchester,
England.
- April 13: Tame Impala makes their
debut at 'Coachella'.
 August 8: Tame Impala topped the
Billboard Alternative Albums chart for 1 week
with Currents.
     
- May 30: Tame Impala topped the
Billboard Adult Alternative Songs chart for 1
week with "Lost In Yesterday."
- October 24: Tame Impala topped the
Billboard Adult Alternative Songs chart for 3
weeks with "Is It True."
    
 May 2: Tame Impala topped the
Billboard Rock & Alternative Songs chart and
Alternative Songs chart with "Dracula."- May 23: Tame Impala topped the
Billboard Rock & Alternative Airplay chart
for 2 weeks with "Dracula."
- May 25: Tame Impala were
nominated for 2 American Music Awards including
Best Rock/Alternative Song ("Dracula") and Best Rock/Alternative
Album (Deadbeat).
- May 30: Tame Impala hit the Top 10 with "Dracula."
- July 11: Tame Impala topped the
Billboard Pop Airplay chart with "Dracula."
 July 25: Tame Impala topped the
Billboard Adult Pop Airplay chart with "Dracula."
