  Gym Class Heroes began forming
in 1997 in New York when Travis McCoy and
drummer Matt McGinley started a friendship
(in gym class) and got Milo Bonacci and Ryan
Geise to join them in a band. Within a few
years, two self-produced LPs (Hed Candy
and Greasy Kid Stuff) were recorded.
Bonacci and Geise were later replaced with
guitarist Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo and bassist
Eric Roberts. Gym Class Heroes got help to
launch their success from Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy.
