Of All Time !

50+ years on The ARC Weekly Top 40 and Billboard Hot 100, and
come up with
a definitive list that will continue to expand as we add to it,
and continue to modify as new songs chart on The ARC Weekly Top
40.
"Basically
we got the point where we realized that we
can be known as a band that hit it hard for 3
records and disappeared, or be a band that
was smart enough to realize that not very
many bands get to make 4 records, so let's
make the most of this. Because honestly, we
were horrible housepainters and that's what
we'd be doing if we weren't do this." - Nathan Followill, Kings
Of Leon
TIMELINE
Kings Of Leon hail from
Tennessee and Oklahoma and consists of brothers
Nathan Followill on drums, Caleb Followill on
lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Jared Followill on
bass, and their cousin Matthew Followill on lead
guitar. The Followill brothers, Nathan, Caleb,
and Jared, spend much of their childhood on the
road with their father (Leon) - a traveling
Pentecostal evangelist. As a group, they have
been described as sounding like The Strokes playing Lynyrd
Skynyrd songs with a bluesy, Southern
rock twist. Kings Of Leon signed with RCA Records
in 2002 and got their cousin Matthew Followill to
join as their second guitarist. The boys were
barely starting in their 20s with Jared still a
teen. Gradual exposure to the Kings Of Leon came
with the boys opening for U2 in 2005, followed by Bob
Dylan and Pearl
Jam.
