 Switchfoot (a surfing term)
consists of Jon Foreman on vocals and guitar,
his brother, Tim Foreman on bass and vocals,
Jerome Fontamillas on guitar, keyboards and
vocals (joining in 2002), and Chad Butler on
drums. The band was conceived in San Diego in
the mid-90s as an alternative to pro surfing.
By their 4th LP, Switchfoot had expanded
their following from Christian rock to
mainstream and alternative rock, as well as
hitting the pop charts.
