
Miley Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November
23, 1992 in Tennessee and is the daughter of country
singer Billy Ray Cyrus. The origins
of her name Miley came from years of being called
'smiley' when she was little. Miley has stated
"...the day I was born my father started calling
me Miley, for 'Smiley' and it stuck. Miley had a few
small acting roles before getting her own series.
Miley first got noticed for her TV show Hannah
Montana which debuted on the Disney Channel in

in the Tim Burton film Big Fish.

The television series Hannah Montana began
its run on the Disney channel. Miley starred in the

The success of the show resulted in huge marketing
for Hannah Montana products.
