RockOnTheNet.com
presents The Top Pop Songs
Of All Time !
We have ranked the top pop songs that have charted over the past
50+ years on The ARC Weekly Top 40 and Billboard Hot 100, and
come up with
a definitive list that will continue to expand as we add to it,
and continue to modify as new songs chart on The ARC Weekly Top
40.
Lil Nas X was born 'Montero
Lamar Hill' on April 9, 1999 in Georgia. The
rapper burst onto the music scene with the hit
"Old Town Road" in 2019. As his fame
grew, so did his comfort with proclaiming himself
as a gay man.
March 16: Lil Nas X hit the
Billboard Country chart with "Old Town Road" but the song was
removed from the chart the following week after
it was declared to be ineligible for the chart.
The removal sparked much debate as some saw the
move as racist.
April 13: Lil Nas X topped the
Billboard Hot 100 chart for 19 weeks,
R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for 20 weeks,
R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Songs chart for 21 weeks,
and Rap Songs chart for 20 weeks with "Old Town Road." The song became the
longest running #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100
chart.
April 20: Lil Nas X topped the
Billboard Digital Songs chart for 15 weeks with
"Old Town Road."
December 31: Lil Nas X topped the Billboard 2019
Year-End Chart Toppers with the Top Hot 100 Song,
Top Digital Song Sales, Top R&B/Hip-Hop Song,
Top R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales, Top Rap
Song, and Top Rap Digital Song Sales ("Old Town Road").
