SZA was born Solana Imani
Rowe on November 8, 1989 in Missouri and raised
in New Jersey. In the early 2010s, after dropping
out of a college with a marine biology major, SZA
released a few EPs: See.SZA.Run and S.
As a singer and songwriter, SZA has won over the
critics with her strong R&B, jazz-influened
music - often described as 'alt-R&B'.

- July 14: SZA signed with Top Dawg
Entertainment. Subsequent EP releases included Z
and A.

- July 1: SZA topped the Billboard
R&B Albums chart for 3 weeks with Ctrl.
- February 17: SZA topped the Billboard
Dance Club Songs chart for 1 week helping out Rihanna with
"Consideration."

- December 18: SZA topped the Billboard
R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for 1 week,
R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Songs chart for 1 week,
R&B Songs chart for 1 week, and R&B
Digital Songs chart for 2 weeks with "I Hate U."
- March 19: SZA topped the Billboard
Rhythmic Airplay chart for 1 week with "I Hate U."

March 4: SZA topped the Billboard
Rhythmic Airplay chart for 2 weeks with "Kill Bill."
