TIMELINE

Vertical Horizonbutton.gif (123 bytes) Vertical Horizon began as an acoustic duo in 1991 when Scannell and Kane began playing together after hooking up at a club outside Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Both graduated from Georgetown and returned to their New England roots: Scannell was from Massachusetts and Kane was from Connecticut. Their first summer together was spent living and working on Cape Cod. They saved up enough money to record their first CD - recorded at Scannell's high school.

1994...

button.gif (123 bytes) Vertical Horizon remained the duo of Scannell and Kane, but began to include more musicians on their recordings for their next LP - including Carter Beauford of Dave Matthews Band.

1996...

button.gif (123 bytes) Ed Toth joined the band as drummer.
