March 10: Thicke and Pharrell (and to a lesser extent, T.I.) lost a lawsuit to the
tune of $7.3 million filed by the estate of Marvin Gaye which claimed the hit
"Blurred Lines" was a rip off of
Gaye's hit "Got To Give It Up." They
said in a joint statement: "While we respect
the judicial process, we are extremely
disappointed in the ruling made today which sets
a horrible precedent for music and creativity
going forward."
