Adams (will.i.am), Allen Pineda (Apl.de.Ap),
Stacy Ferguson (Fergie), and Jaime Gormez
(Taboo). Fergie joined
the group in 2003 replacing background singer Kim
Hill.
- November 18: Black Eyed Peas won a MTV
Europe Award for Best Pop Act.
- July: Black Eyed Peas topped
the Canadian LP charts with Monkey
Business.
- July 2: Black Eyed Peas performed
in Philadelphia as part of the worldwide Live 8 concerts. The mission of
the concerts was to raise awareness of the
on-going poverty in Africa and to pressure the G8
leaders to take action by doubling aid, canceling
debt, and delivering trade justice for Africa.
- July 14: Monkey
Business was certified platinum.
- June 27: Black Eyed Peas won a BET
Award for Best Group.
- July 7: Black Eyed Peas performed
at the Live
Earth
concert in the UK. The 7-continent concert
organized by Al Gore brought together over 100
artists to perform and raise the world's
awareness about the climate crisis and how to
make a difference to help the environment and the
world.
